Right in the heart of Paris, hidden in plain sight among cafés, monuments, and the steady rhythm of city life, sits the headquarters of the European Space Agency (ESA). This is where missions are approved, astronauts are assigned, collaborations are forged, and the future of European spaceflight quietly unfolds. And now, inside this building, there is a place where the public can step directly into that world: the ESA Astrolabe Visitor Center.

Now Visit the ESA Astrolabe Visitor Center Longer!
What makes this place extraordinary is not just the science—it’s the access. This isn’t a distant museum about what space used to be. Its where Europe’s involvement in the International Space Station, the Artemis lunar program, and deep-space exploration is happening right now. And the doors are open. Even better, due to the overwhelming interest since its launch, the center is now officially open until 6:00 PM.
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 10 AM – 6 PM
- Wednesdays: 1 PM – 6 PM
- Square Lowendal, 6 Rue Mario Nikis, 75015 Paris, France
This longer schedule didn’t appear out of nowhere. It happened because space enthusiasts, travelers, families, and curious minds kept showing up. Your excitement made it impossible to ignore just how much this experience matters. So truly — thank you. You helped make this happen.

Interactive Exhibits at the ESA Astrolabe Visitor Center
Stepping inside feels like entering a working mission hub. Interactive exploration tables invite you to scroll through planets, satellites, and spacecraft. Large digital mission displays explain the engineering, teamwork, and international coordination behind every launch. There displays that show Europe’s contribution to the ISS, and hands-on stations that make space science feel personal and real. Everything is designed to be touched, explored, and understood — no matter your age or background.
One of the highlights is the virtual reality station where you can actually take a guided VR walk inside the International Space Station. Floating through the ISS in VR, surrounded by the hum of life-support systems and the view of Earth rolling past below you, is an experience that stays with you long after you’ve removed the headset.
Take a Virtual Tour of the ESA Astrolabe Visitor Center Before You Go
And to help more people discover what makes this place so special, I created something I’m truly excited to share: an interactive virtual reality mini-tour of the ESA Astrolabe Visitor Center. It allows you to explore the museum from wherever you are — to stand inside the exhibit, look around, and get a taste of the experience before you go in person. Consider it the liftoff moment before the real journey.

If you’re already in Paris, planning a trip, or you’re a Parisian local, add this to your list. It’s not crowded with tourists. It’s not gimmicky. It’s sincere, thoughtful, and inspiring. And it’s free.
If you visit in the late afternoon, you’ll find it easier to take your time lingering at the displays. Afterward, you can walk along the Seine as the city lights come up, carrying with you the feeling that you’ve just stepped a little closer to humanity’s future.
The journey to the stars begins here. Not in a distant galaxy, but in places like this where curiosity and courage meet.
